I thought Running Cool was a great movie. Bikers are always being displayed as outlaws. This movie comes together to show how bikers stick together as a family. The language is a little foul, but if you can look past that you will find that not all bikers are bad. They are everyday people just like you and me. You also have an added humor along with a romantic love story in here as well. It goes back to the old saying "You can't judge a book by it's cover".

This biker soap opera was filmed two years before Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper changed American cinema with Easy Rider (it wasn't released until 1970, however), and one look at Rebel Rousers makes you appreciate how far the two hippie filmmakers briefly took the genre. Other than a wildly over-the-top Jack Nicholson (hilariously outfitted in flowing scarf, wool cap, confederate flag-embroidered leather jacket, and striped pants) and Harry Dean Stanton as a flamboyant loadie, there's not much here to entertain. The sappy plot about a square couple (Cameron Mitchell and a pregnant Diane Ladd) who gets kidnapped by a biker gang is plodding and lifeless, the dialogue is improvised but still overwrought, and the drag-racing sequences look lifeless. Director Martin B. Cohen has no idea whether to glorify or demonize the biker gang and, worse, insults their carefree lifestyles by stuffing them in a conventional, formulaic story line.

The butch, chain-wielding women pick men to service them from a line-up, fight with male bikers, and hold orgies. Nancy Lee Noble (The Girl, the Body, and the Pill) appears as a naive recruit named Honey-Pot, and there are the usual decapitations and crucifixions which the viewer might expect from the director of Blood Feast. T-shirts bearing images of the film's flamboyant poster ("Soft, HELL!") became trendy among urban teens in the 1980s.

Though he revels in gallows humor (the gang's "extreme sports" suicide montage is ghoulishly hilarious), Sharp never lets it descend into camp--though at times perhaps he should have. Yeah this is the series, folks- I have always been a fan of S/H, since 1985, and after 15 years (I've just got the entire series on video, along with my original PAL and NTSC versions of the pilot), I can honestly say that my allegiance to Michael Knight seems to be wavering... Okay, so the guy's name is Jesse, but aside from that, this is the series that should NEVER have been canned. If you've only seen the pal version of this vid, (British and Canadian versions had different effects in the pilot to the US version), you'll be over the moon with the US NTSC version. Cleaner effects, notably the particle weapon beam, and the hyperthrust, and also has the opening credits from the series, that the pal does not have. What else can I say? COOL music by Tangerine Dream, reasonably undated action, yep, buy it NOW If you don't, and it gets deleted, well you've only yourself to blame!

I love this show it is one of my favorite shows on t.v. If I'm working and can't be home to watch it I tape it and watch it later. It has everything a show needs to be considered worth watching. It's got action, it's got romance ( Reno and Cheyenne) it's got truth to it, it can be comical, it can be sad and it's got motorcycles. I think there should be more shows just like it, but ofcourse nobody could ever be as good an actor as Lorenzo Lamas.

"Born Losers" began the Billy Jack legend. To most of us, it seemed like a prequel....we didn't see it until after Billy Jack became such a huge hit. "Losers" set box office records for the genre at the time, and was a star vehicle for supporting players like Robert Tessier (who later appeared in numerous movies and TV shows-- i.e. The Deep, Hard Times, and The Longest Yard) and Jeremy Slate (Lawnmower Man, Hells Angels '69, Mr. Horn, and Summer of Fear). "Losers" showcases Mr. Laughlin as the man minding his own business who is forced out of honor to protect himself and others from marauding bikers. As far as I'm concerned, it's the first great biker movie. Movie legend Jane Russell has an appearance (not exactly Oscar quality), but it is Tom Laughlin's power as the enigmatic hero that makes this movie legendary. Some consider "Born Losers" the best of the Billy Jack series. Me, I like them all. And...... check out the Billy Jack website, it's a must for the real fan of Billy Jack.

This was actually a very good MST episode, but I didn't think anyone would actually release this one-quarters baked and terminally dumbed-down piece of flotsam as an actual VIDEO release on its own!! Combines a submoronic criminal biker gang, a washed up race car driver, a bad sixties Grass Roots cover band, a whole lotta guns and a lighthouse. Worth the price just to make your life feel that much better, but wait until the MST format comes out. Funny stuff there. . .

"Leather Boys" is a black-and-white noirish film of the kitchen sink school directed by Canadian Sidney J. Furie and starring '60s pop icon Rita Tushingham. However, it is Colin Campbell, as Tushingham's young husband, who takes center stage in the drama, and his performance is heart-breaking. "Leather Boys" is essentially a drama about consequences. Campbell's character marries Tushingham because that's what a young man from his class and with his prospects does. But he is unhappy in marriage and with the lack of options available to a young man in the era before London began to swing in the 1960s, without really knowing why. Then a new mate comes into his life, played by the great character actor Dudley Sutton, and his world is suddenly turned upside down. Can a couple of motorcycle jocks find love in England in 1963? You probably already know the answer to that one, but see for yourself how it plays out on film. The closing scene is a study in ambivalence. To my mind, this is a little-known classic of early "gay" cinema.
